LIV Golf
Sergio Garcia mantains his great form and cruises to a win in Hong Kong and leads Fireball GC to a team win!

Through the first two rounds of LIV Golf Hong Kong, Spaniard Sergio Garcia was in a three way tie for the lead with Peter Uihlein and Paul Casey. He’d hit a great approach shot into the par 5 3rd hole and roll a great putt in for an eagle. He’d never look back and things never got even the slightest bit shaky as he cruised to a three shot victory over Dean Burmester. He’d go on to shoot a bogey free 63 to finish at -18 for the tournament and lead his Fireballs GC to a one shot victory over Stinger GC.

Notably, Phil Mickelson was able to find some great form this week as he detailed a new approach he’s taken. He’s not trying to overpower courses and keep up with guys in the ball speed department, but trying to play a game of accuracy and make fewer bogeys. He finished in solo third and will be looking to continue improving on that this week in Singapore.

Congratulations to Sergio Garcia and Fireballs GC!

This week on the LIV Golf:

LIV Golf returns to Sentosa Golf Club on Sentosa Island in Singapore this week where Brooks Koepka will be looking to defend his individual victory, and Ripper GC their team victory.

PGA Tour
Russell Henley makes a clutch eagle late and wins the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Karl Vilips becomes a PGA Tour winner as a rookie in Puerto Rico!

After fantastic matching rounds of 67 on Saturday Russell Henley and Colin Morikawa found themselves in the final pairing with Colin holding a one shot lead at the beginning of the round. He’d briefly extend that lead, and then make a couple of bogeys in the first half of the back nine to return the lead to just one shot.

Then on the 16th hole, Russel Henley hit the shot of the tournament, chipping in for eagle on the 16th hole. Colin made par on the same hole after ending up in the fairway bunker off the tee. He’d miss lengthy birdie putts on 17 and 18, and Henley would do the same. Henley’s final round of 72 would beat Colin by two shots and make him the winner at Bay Hill, his first win since November of 2022.

In the Puerto Rico Open, new member of the PGA Tour Koala Karl Vilips would make a statement and secure his PGA Tour card for the next two seasons. At just 23 years old he played on the Korn Ferry Tour last year and earned promotion to the PGA Tour, and is now a winner. He played fantastically throughout the event shooting 65-67-66-64 and winning by three strokes to become a PGA Tour winner in his rookie season.

Congratulations to Russell Henley and Karl Vilips!

DP World Tour
At the Joburg Open, Calum Hill wins his second DP World Tour Title!

Calum Hill secured his second DP World Tour title in dramatic fashion, winning the Joburg Open in a playoff against Jacques Kruyswijk and Shaun Norris. The Scotsman, who started the final round eight shots back, fired a stunning 62 to finish at 14 under, forcing extra holes after a crucial birdie on 18. Hill clinched victory with a par on the second playoff hole as Norris found the water and Kruyswijk missed a five-footer. The win marks Hill’s first title since the 2021 Cazoo Classic and makes him the first Scottish winner of the Joburg Open.

An incredible final round for a deserving champion!

Congratulations to Calum Hill!
