Kensei Hirata hangs on to win the Shinhan Donghae Open!
At the end of the third round, Kensei Hirata and Kosuke Suzuki were tied for the lead, and Travis Smyth in a tie for 4th, 3 shots back.
Travis Smyth would close the gap end enter the back 9 tied for the lead with Hirata after 8 birdies in his first 9 holes. Unfortunately he’d cool off and shoot an even par 36 on the back nine.
Hirata poured in a few comfortable birdies on the back and would be three shots clear of the lead after 15 holes. A nice buffer to have, and also a buffer he needed, as he’d bogey 16 and 18 to win the Donghae Open by one stroke!
Congratulations to Kensei Hirata!

Matt Wallace claims victory at the Omega European Masters in a playoff!
A flawless first and second round from Matt Wallace had him taking a four stroke lead into the weekend, but strong play from Alfredo Garcia-Heredia coupled with some tough conditions resulted in his lead fully diminishing after a final round of even par.
He’d enter a playoff with Spanish Alfredo Garcia-Heredia. A perfect drive and equally great approach gave Wallace eight feet for birdie. After watching Garcia-Heredia’s long birdie effort slide by, he rolled in the birdie and claimed his first victory in six years. It’s Matt’s fifth win on the DP World tour.
Andrew “Beef” Johnston missed the playoff by just one stroke, marking a great return to form!
Congratulations to Matt Wallace!
